
Mary Louise Lee
Wife of the Honorable Michael B. Hancock, the forty-fifth Mayor of Denver.
Her Story
One of the few natives of Denver, Mary Louise Lee began performing at an early age. For over 30 years, she has built an extraordinary professional performing career as a vocalist, staged actress, and band leader, local and national. Having performed at numerous high-profile events including the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Democratic Conventions, and being a Season 9 contestant on America's Got Talent, just to name a few. She has also traveled to Korea, Japan, Johnston Island, Honduras, and Panama performing for troops of the U.S. Department of Defense.
As Denver’s First Lady, she combined her passion for the arts and youth through her Bringing Back the Arts Foundation. From students to senior citizens, Ms. Lee was committed to being an ambassador for the arts to help restore arts education in schools, provide access to Denver’s cultural institutions for all residents, and spotlight local performing artists.

A performer-at-heart, Ms. Lee began singing at the age of three and is well known in Denver, and Colorado for her extensive contributions to the performing arts community. For over thirty years, she has built an extraordinary professional performing career as a vocalist, staged actress and band leader. Ms. Lee has traveled extensively entertaining American soldiers around the globe. When not on stage, Ms. Lee spends her time growing her foundation, Bringing Back the Arts, which combines her passion for arts and education. Whether working with students or seniors, she is a dedicated ambassador for exposing all to Denver’s vibrant arts and cultural communities.
