
Gladys Burns Nicholson
Wife of the Honorable Will Nicholson, Sr., the thirty-seventh Mayor of Denver. First Lady of Denver from 1955-1959.

Personal
Mrs. Nicholson was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on March 12, 1904. She then died Denver, Colorado on March 14, 1996 (Age 92). Gladys now resides peacefully at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Of note, Mrs. Nicholson graduated from Westover School in Connecticut and lived in Colorado Springs until moving to Denver in 1938.

Family
The Nicholsons were married on January 14, 1926, and had two children. The family lived at 655 Vine St.

Of Note
Mayor Nicholson served Denver as its thirty-seventh Mayor and was thereafter a two-term Colorado State Senator. Mrs. Nicholson was very actively involved in many of the campaigns and public appearances expected of the Mayor and then Senator Nicholson. She was a member of the Denver Country Club and St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral.
