Hattie Montague Perkins

Wife of Honorable J. M. Perkins, the twenty-eighth Mayor of Denver. First Lady of Denver from 1913-1915.

Her Story

Personal

Mrs. Perkins was born in Farmington, Missouri in 1869 and died in Denver, Colorado in 1959 (Age 90). She resides peacefully at Fairmont Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.

Family

The Perkins were married in 1892 and had two children. The family residence was at 1301 Clayton Street and were active in the Baptist Church.

Of Note

Mayor Perkins was a prominent surgeon and the family was very involved in helping Denver citizens in many health-related ways.  Mayor Perkins was in office when Denver was hit with its largest snowfall (in December 1913), impacting his family and friends, as well as the Denver citizenry, in many significant ways.
