Personal
Ethel was born in Canada in 1879 and died in Denver, Colorado on November 29, 1963 (Age 84). She now resides peacefully at Fairmont Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.

Family
Mary Stevenson Begole was Mayor Begole’s first spouse but divorced in 1926. Together, they had four children. Mayor Begole married again to Ethel B. Waldo on June 1, 1927. Two of the children of the first marriage were tragically killed in 1928 in a plane crash, just one year after the Mayor’s second marriage to Ethel Waldo Begole. Mrs. Ethel Begole had a son from her prior marriage as well.

Of Note
Mrs. Begole was the First Lady during a particularly difficult time in Denver, which included a recall petition against her husband, which was eventually dismissed. There were droughts and the Great Depression to contend with as well. The family had a significant investment in apple orchards away from Denver (Westminster) and a second residence.
